1daylater.com is an online time and expense management application. The application allows users to track time spent on projects for clients and expenses incurred. All of the activities of a project for a client can be tracked, and invoices can be generated and sent by the application. Users have a Dashboard, where entries can be logged and a summary of recent activity can be seen. The Dashboard also allows users to log mileage as an expense, and to view reports showing activity in graphical form. Expenses are shown in list form, with an icon beside each entry for the type of income or expense. Users can also export their data to a spreadsheet from the dashboard. In addition, the Dashboard can be used to generate and send invoices to clients. The Invoice screen lets the user set the currency unit, the hourly rate, the cost per mile and the amount of VAT or tax. Each log entry has a notes section, and the invoice feature allows the user to search the notes for a particular entry or to filter entries by client or type of expense. Users can also enter a date range to search. Invoices are generated as Open XML files, which can be read by Excel, iWork, Open Office and other programs. Files generated using the export feature are also generated as Open XML files. The site also offers apps for accessing the site using iPhone, Android and Nokia N-series phones.Show more screenshots »

Competition to 1daylater.com comes from sites such as ConcurBreeze.com and FunctionFox.com. Both of these sites offer more features than 1daylater.com, but are more expensive. Both sites offer integration for credit card expenses and expense approval. 1Daylater.com is easier to use, however. In addition, 1daylater.co does offer a free plan if you do not need to generate invoices. ConcurBreeze.com and FunctionFox.com offer free trials, but no free plan.
The 1daylater.com site has a very Web 2.0 look and feel. The site is quite responsive, with page loads happening quickly. Navigation is intuitive, and the software is very easy to use. All functions of the software are available from within the user's Dashboard. Export and invoice generation work well, as do the time aand expense logging features. There is no advertising displayed on the 1daylater.com site.
Registration to 1daylater.com is free and is required to use the site. The registration process asks for first and last name, email address, password and telephone number (optional).
A free account allows for unlimited projects and clients, but does not include invoicing functionality. The paid package allows users to export data to spreadsheets and to generate and send invoices. The paid package costs £10 per month or £80 per year.
The 1daylater.com site is recommended to anyone who has a need to track time and expenses. In addition, the paid application can produce invoices for clients. The software is very easy to use and quite capable. The reporting function works well and provides a useful visual representation of the user's workflow.
